Youth Olympic Games

(14 - 26 August 2010)

We share the joy with all Singaporeans that Singapore will be hosting the FIRST Youth Olympic Games held in August 2010. As part of our efforts to promote Olympic Education and Youth Olympic Games to our Bendemeerians, we have planned and implemented the various programmes and school events:

'Run to Mali' - We have invited Mr. C. Kunalan to host the event. Mr. C Kunalan shared with the staff and students on his experience taking part in 1964 and 1968 Olympic Games. He has inspired all staff and students with his "Can Do" spirit. Many staff and students have joined in the fun to clock their 'Run to Mali' on threadmills.

In March, Deputy Director (South) visited our school and we shared with her some of our efforts in Olympic Education (including an online game which introduces students some important facts of Olympic Games).

On 17 April 2009, Kilimanjaro House was in-charge of organising the morning assembly event to celebrate International Friendship Day. Ms. Tay Choon Yee and student leaders from Kilimanjaro House shared with the school on the core values of Youth Olympic Games and how we can leverage on the platform of organising YOG to live the Olympic values, and play gracious hosts to participants & officials.
