Father & Child Floorball Carnival Cum Parenting Talk
Bendemeer Secondary held its first Dads@School event on Saturday 27th February 2010. We organized a Father and Child Floorball Carnival from 9am to 10.30am. A total of 16 father and child pairs took part. Both parents and our school staff took part in the event. The carnival was held in the school hall.
Each father was given a T-shirt to commemorate the event. Mothers also came along to join in the fun. We started the event by teaching the players the basics of Floorball. Most fathers were able to pick up and understand the game. Once the competition began, the excitement level increased.
We gave away trophies for the top three teams in the competition. Fathers were glad to have had an opportunity to play with their child. They came forward with suggestions for the next event the school can plan for.
The carnival was a success and all the participants enjoyed themselves. There was light refreshment provided and this was followed by a talk on Love Languages for both parents and children.
