2008 has been another fruitful year for the Society. In April, we held our Annual General Meeting where we declared a 10% dividend to all our shareholders because of a good financial year in 2007. This year, we concentrated our efforts on our student members and exposed them to a variety of entrepreneurial skills. The exco members learnt how to close our weekly accounts and to conduct the entire AGM. All of our students had the rare opportunity to visit the NTUC Food Distribution centre. There they learnt new ideas and underwent entrepreneurial courses.
We also worked hard to set up a successful stall and collaborated with the NTcipate Life@Bendemeer Programme students at the school’s Funfair. Currently, the students are working hard to compete in the Republic Polytechnic’s National Pushcart Competition where, they will be selling potted herbs and balloon sculptures. We would like to give a big thank you to Mr Oh Tze Ming for his kind help in teaching and in supporting our students to grow these herbs. 2008 has indeed been a busy and exciting year for the Co-Op!
